ABOUT WEKESA
Thank you for joining the WEKESA community. You are joining a large community of readers and authors.
WEKESA all started in one person’s head, then through communication and interactions, spread into the mind of many, where it was conceptualized and made operational. WEKESA is an independent, nonsectarian and nonpartisan platform dedicated to promoting a different perspective on reporting Global Issues and raise funds for pro-poor and pro-social initiatives. This platform hopes to elevate awareness of African issues beyond the dominant stereotypes: Corruption, tribal and ethnic conflicts, poverty, famine, and HIV/AIDS. Most of the articles on this website are written by me and other benevolent experts. We work on this website on a part-time basis.
What are you going to read on WEKESA.com?
The articles, working papers and reports on WEKESA will focus on global issues. Aspects covered will not be limited to political issues, but will also include historical, environmental, economical, and cultural aspects shaping the livelihood of the people of Africa and beyond. Articles will be written by experts, citizen journalists, civil societies actors, and keen observers of international issues. The interests of Africa and of humanity as a whole will be the underlying aspect collating the entire contributions.
In addition, while fulfilling its mission, WEKESA will keep high its ideals and values. The key drivers of its articles and analyses will be pursuance of “truth telling in the public interest” (Dale Jacquette)
Who is behind WEKESA?
Wekesa has no sponsor. I maintain this website during my spare time. All costs incurred for this website were all borne by me, out of my own pocket. Some readers asked what I earn to spend time and money on this project. I simply answer back that, when you have a passion and feel that there is a gap that you need to feel, you cannot be stopped my financial uncertainty. That is my driving force - it takes time and money, but when I receive your emails and hear that students, researchers, men, and women find this website useful, I feel happy and accomplished.
However, I will accept donations from readers. This will go a long way to ease my work and also help me to upgrade the website. In addition, it will go a long way to provide me enough time to work on this website. Presently, I spend few hours on this website after completing my core duty. With your contribution, I will be able to create more time to update and upgrade your website. To support, contact: infowekesa@gmail.com
Last but not the least, if ads are significant, this will help to ease my toil. I sometimes work until late in the night to update and upgrade this website. Having few ads will go a long way to increase my sleep time. However, the key of this website is to share information; we will try by all possible means to make sure that the publicity should not be a distraction to our readers.
Your support is important! if you have any idea that can help to foster Wekesa, please don't hesitate to let us know.
